Today’s session is where I’m going to be putting on my holistic nutritionist’s hat.

I am going to teach you some really basic principles of nutrition that will help support your efforts to be alcohol-free.

When I went through my CCWFN training, it had nothing to do with the usual “eat 5 servings of this or that per day, and make the meat the size of the palm of your hand.” The curriculum was more like “if you have dark circles and varicose veins, this can indicate liver congestion, so take supplement and do that detox…” It was called “Functional Nutrition.”

I learned an enormous amount about how to eat and drink for optimum health and wellness. NOTE: If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will have to adjust my information a bit to suit you because I am not either of those. I’m a conscious omnivore (that’s the P.C. term these days for people who are concerned with the way the cattle is raised and the farm is run).

Why “Nutrition” Talk in a Course About Quitting Drinking?

The short answer is “because you’ve probably spent YEARS abusing your body with alcohol.” I know I did. Now’s your chance to be kind to your body. Believe me, when you feel in good health, you don’t have as many cravings and urges, and you certainly think twice (or 3x or 4x) before you ever entertain the idea of harming it with drinking and other toxins. PLUS, proper nutrition can help your liver and other organs improve their function AND proper nutrition affects your moods. Show me a person with depression and anxiety, and I bet one of the contributing factors to their malaise is that they are not getting enough Vitamin B and exercise. Again, I am not a doctor… I’m only a holistic nutritionist, but that is my firm observation. Practicing good nutrition will set you up for life-success!

This course is NOT a substitute for professional healthcare advice or treatment. Also, when this course was originally filmed, I was offering a weekly Live Session via Zoom. Sometimes the video or the homework might mention the Live Session, however, I am no longer able to host them.
