This is your first “mindset” session

The mindset sessions should help you understand yourself a little better. We are all in various points on the “phases of change” cycle. In the video lesson, we’ll go over the Phases of Change model that was developed by Prochaska and DiClemente in the late 1970s so you can get an idea of where you’re at now, and where you want to be.

It’s also helpful to know that these stages are NORMAL, and movement through them is not usually linear. We usually bounce all over the place. This session doesn’t have homework, but it does have a chart that can be helpful to you to keep so that you can understand where you’re at and help move yourself to where you’d rather be.

It might be good to share with your loved ones

It also may be helpful to share this with your concerned loved ones. Many normal drinkers out there don’t understand that there is no magic pill for going sober. Most people don’t have a decision to quit that leads to perfect abstinence thereafter. Most of us bounce around until we can find our bearings in a happy, alcohol-free lifestyle. If your family and friends understand the Phases of Change, it might help them to understand your journey a little better.

REMINDER

This course is NOT a substitute for professional healthcare advice or treatment. Also, when this course was originally filmed, I was offering a weekly Live Session via Zoom. Sometimes the video or the homework might mention the Live Session, however, I am no longer able to host them. So please remember that even though this Lesson might mention a Live session, it is no longer part of this course. Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for this annoying popup.
